Entry Title: Listening & Positivity as a strategy to give guidance in times of uncertainty

 

1) Full-scale communication: We set up new measures like a Weekly Employee Newsletter containing relevant COVID-19 information, stories to support mental/physical health and updates from DS-locations and a Daily Media Briefing informing about the latest headlines about coronavirus and the dental industry to provide employees with information regarding the Company, guidelines, hygiene standards or news. Moreover, we created a Website as one central channel which employees could access remotely. This was very important to keep non-desk-workers informed. We used already existing channels (Townhalls and the podcast) and implemented a new format DS Chat to provide employees with information and give them the opportunity to ask questions. When employees were allowed to return to workplaces, we distributed Leadership Toolkits and Brochures that contained all necessary information.

2) Listening and Positivity: We used DS Tunes and DS Chat to give employees a voice. Next to listening it was extremely important to support mental health. Therefore, we created a Playlist where our CEO shared a motivating song. In our Weekly Employee Newsletter we kept employees informed. We enhanced the strategy through the campaign “Teeth Don’t Heal Themselves” on Social Media. In 46 posts, leaders and employees of Dentsply Sirona and dental professionals shared positive thoughts.

We also performed an employee Pulse Survey in select countries. Based on the feedback, we initiated video projects to explain the risks of COVID-19 and to reinforce preventive measures, developed a dedicated remote working-page and introduced a Global Employee Assistance Program, a company-paid benefit for employees.
