New World Development Company Limited (NWD), a premium brand infused with a unique personality defined by The Artisanal Movement, was founded in 1970 and publicly listed in Hong Kong in 1972. Its core business areas include property investment and development, and investment in and / or operations of roads, commercial aircraft leasing, construction, insurance and other strategic businesses, with operations in Greater China and especially in the Greater Bay Area.

The Artisanal Movement is a cultural vision that guides every aspect of our businesses. Its goal is to rekindle the artisan spirit in everyone and, in this age of machines and automation, to celebrate the human values of craftsmanship, heritage and imagination through our projects.

NWD is transforming into a unique ecosystem-centered institution providing variety of services enriching social culture and people’s life. To achieve these objectives, NWD launched bespoke employee engagement programmes to engage our Artisans. Key initiatives included:

(A) Family-friendly Initiatives

“Group Family Carnival”

  • A full day carnival with company game booths, team games and performances arranged for the Group’s staff and their family members.
  • The games booths demonstrated the key elements of NWD’s Eco-system, including Arts, Multiple Intelligence, Sustainability, Wellness, Sports & E-Sports.
  • The Carnival served multi-functions of employee caring and culture diffusion.
  • Employees and their family gained deeper understanding on the Group’s culture and business through the interactions.
  • Employees and their family had fun together and gained deeper understanding on the Group’s culture and business through the interactions.

Education Sponsorship for Employees’ Children

  • To encourage employees’ children to further their education and nurture youth development.
  • Education assistance is provided to Primary/Secondary School and University students.
  • Students were subsidized to join Summer classes to enhance their language and STEM knowledge.
  • Internship and overseas exchange opportunity are offered to students. They could join the New World Group Internship Programme to gain work experience which prepare for the future career development. They could also choose to participate in an overseas exchange programme to experience the foreign culture.

 

(B) Talent Grooming & Engagement

Engagement in Entrepreneur Projects

  • Internal talents demonstrating entrepreneur mindset, creativity and business acumen will further be groomed on their entrepreneurship skills.
  • Identified talents could opt to put aside their original duty to own and drive an entrepreneurial project undertaken by another business units of the Group for at least 6 months.
  • The program aims to provide the talents with practical experience and enrich their entrepreneur exposure.

 

(A) Family-friendly Initiatives

“Group Family Carnival”

  • A creative event serving multi-functions of employee caring and culture diffusion. All the decorations, game booths and team games demonstrated the corporate culture and the business of New World Group. Staff members and their family could gain deeper understanding on the Group’s culture and business.
  • By having better understanding on the corporate culture and work environment from the Carnival, the communication between the staff member and their family could be enhanced.

Education Sponsorship for Employees’ Children

  • A unique scheme that education assistance is provided to Primary/Secondary School and University students. Employees’ are not necessary to apply every year, so they won’t need to worry for their financial burden during the scheme period.
  • This is not just a financial subsidize scheme, but also an educational programme. Students were subsidized to join Summer class. Internship and overseas exchange opportunity were also offered.

 

(B) Talent Grooming & Engagement
Engagement in Entrepreneur Projects

  • This is a ground-breaking programme in the Group as the staff members could lead a business project which is outside their business domain. It is both a challenge for the staff member and the project owner. Having said that, this initiative is found to be successful and all business projects were successfully completed.
