Nomination Title: Jennifer Paylor, Making the World a Better Place



Jennifer Paylor is one of the most influential expert culture change practitioners who has a published patent for engineering a “Coaching System for Guiding Interactions”. Her work is featured in Gartner’s new book “The Connector Manager”. She is an award winning MG100 coach leader personally selected by Marshall Goldsmith and Thinkers 50 business leader, Whitney Johnson, to this elite group of leaders. Jennifer is a sought- after leadership keynote speaker attracting thousands to her talks.

Right from the start of COVID- 19 crisis, Jennifer was in Spain coaching leaders on how to best pivot to focus on the emotional, mental and physical well- being of their people. She continued to travel throughout Europe, finally arriving in New York leading experiential workshops with leaders to transform their remote working management systems and practices to improve their performance management, emotional intelligence, crisis management and difficult conversational skills. All of this work was done to best prepare IBM and non- IBM executives for the world shutdown from this pandemic.

As companies started to work from home, within 24 hours, Jennifer created the “Rise to the Occasion Toolkit” providing tangible resources for executives to consider their leadership through this crisis. She helped to develop IBM’s Virtual Leadership model to enable managers with virtual management practices, principles and processes. Throughout the pandemic, she has provided team coaching, subject matter expertise and crisis support to the IBM Global Real Estate leadership team as they designed and launched the IBM Return to Work playbook to keep employees safe in 170 countries.

Jennifer Paylor made history by being the first IBMer to lead the world’s largest internal coaching practice. The IBM Coaching Community of Practice grew from 300 to 6,000 members within two years under her leadership. She was selected by the United States Navy to be a member of their Coaching Working Council to build a new coaching program and drive a culture that supports the development of over 400,000 best war- fighting leaders in the world. Jennifer is a top faculty member for MBS Works’ Year of Living Brilliantly by Michael Bungay Stanier, the author of The Coaching Habit, the best- selling coaching book of this century. Jennifer is in the top 10 list on the Talent Hot Seat podcast.
