As part of its mission to create a high- performing organization through a purpose- driven and agile workforce, Globe Telecom continues to provide access to tools and opportunities that empower its employees.

Employment population increased to 8,048 in 2019 from 7,716 employees in 2018, while employee attrition/turnover rate dropped to 7.50% in 2019 from 9.08% in 2018.

A Purpose survey show that Globe’s values and goals resonated highly with its employees compared to 2018:

-Role and Work contribution to Globe purpose: 91% in 2019 vs. 87 in 2018
-Personal Purpose contribution to Globe purpose: 88% in 2019 vs. 87 in 2018
-Employer NPS and likeliness to recommend Globe as an Employer: 53.40% in 2019 vs. 43.38 in 2018.

These developments will not be possible without the innovations and initiatives introduced by Globe to its employees in the past year:

-Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) Program- eligible employees can choose their work sites and schedules. Employees working overtime can access the Globe Pad, a dormitory exclusive to Ka- Globe.
-MyChoice Flexible Benefits Program, where employees can customize their benefits, and opt for additional HMO coverage; and
-Career development via Globe University.

GROWING IN GLOBE

To encourage the career development of every Ka- Globe, Globe University launched several learning interventions in 2019 to sharpen employees’ technical and leadership skills:

-QUEST - A gamified learning app where learners go through different competency maps aligned with their role competency and proficiency level;
-Coach2Grow (C2G) – A collaboration- centric mobile and web application that aids leaders and managers during coaching sessions to track the progress of their mentees with their learning goals;
-ImmersiV – A virtual reality (VR) training program that simulates Globe retail stores’ day- to- day operations; and
-Specialized courses and programs on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and the Agile mindset

Globe’s continuous commitment to every Ka- Globe’s holistic development is also evident in their Employee Wellness programs that cover all spheres of well- being, as well as the organization’s Citizen and Sustainability initiatives, where employees are given time off to volunteer and work on their personal advocacies.

Out of Globe’s 8,048 employees in 2019, 3,192 employees (40%) volunteered in various social development causes. Globe also contributed 1.4 million volunteer hours to the 185th Ayala anniversary celebration in the same year.

As a result of these programs, Globe’s employee- centric organizational culture has been recognized widely in the industry in 2019. The organization has generated a 91% rating in the Sustainable Engagement Index, an above industry average rating in the Human Resource Asia Awards, and an 88% rating on the Organizational Health Index Score.

On top of these high ratings, Globe Telecom has received honors in 2019 from award- giving bodies in the field of business, such as the Stevie Awards, Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards, and the Human Resource Asia Awards:

Moving forward, Globe continues to ensure that its collaborative culture continues to cut across all communities. In 2020, Globe’s Human Resources team launched “Pride @ Globe,” a Workplace group for the LGBTQI+ community.

This move is followed by the launch of Globe’s Diversity Policy, where legally married same- sex couples can avail of the same benefits with the rest of the employee force. These initiatives are just some of the ways that Globe continues to be an inclusive, people- centric workplace where diversity, community, and innovation thrive and contribute to the organization’s success.
