USANA is known around the world for its mission of providing people with the opportunity to
achieve “true health and true wealth”, and that mission begins with USANA’s employees, who are
encouraged to improve their health and given numerous opportunities to advance their current
and future financial situations. The company also prides itself on the incredible charitable
contributions it has made to people from the state of Utah, to people all over the world.
USANA employees can count on a fun, open and community-focused workplace, led by a
management team that is committed to acting on its employees’ ideas, values, and concerns. A
few of the initiatives that make USANA a healthy place to work include offering employees
complimentary USANA nutritional products at a value of more than $1.5 million each year;
providing on-site fitness facilities that includes an indoor basketball court, 4,000 square feet of
locker room space, and a 2,000 square foot cardio and strength-training facility; contracts with
licensed instructors to teach group fitness classes, such as yoga, bootcamp and CrossFit several
times a week.
USANA also seeks to make a positive impact on the financial health of its employees. As a
growing corporation, USANA ensures its employees are well compensated for their time and
efforts on behalf of the company. USANA’s wages are competitive for the Utah job market; the
company’s most recent external wage survey showed employee compensation to fall within +/-5
percent of market salaries. This does not include the company’s generous benefits, bonuses, 3.5
percent 401(k) match, or considerable profit-sharing program. In fact, USANA’s profit-sharing
program alone has averaged 13.2 percent of employees’ base wages over the last four years.
USANA also offers tuition reimbursement for undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as a
number of certifications. The program is heavily utilized by employees and pays out around
$150,000 a year.
USANA is always looking to improve the lives of its employees and there has been a recent
initiative from USANA executives to give employees improved benefits and family life at home.
Through this new directive, USANA will now offer two additional days of PTO and 16 hours of
“family hours” that employees can use during the year to ensure they get as much time with their
family as possible.
And to top it all off, USANA is now giving employees 12 weeks of fully paid maternity leave and
six weeks of fully paid paternity leave.
USANA also continues to contribute to the local community through its long-standing partnership
with neighboring Kennedy Junior High school. Within the last 12 months USANA employee
volunteers were given leave from work to participate in career mentoring and job fair
opportunities at the school, and students were welcomed to USANA’s corporate headquarters to
display their artwork and put on musical performances.
In 2018, USANA announced a partnership with Kids Eat Utah, which was started to address food
insecurity issues in Utah. USANA employee volunteers will pack branded backpacks with food and
distribute to schools in the local Utah area for children who do not have a steady source of food
and nutrition. USANA plans on holding a food pack for employees to participate in every quarter
and then distribute the bags every month. This partnership helps expand the reach of Kids Eat
Utah and provide them with more food than they were able to collect before.
USANA has repeatedly been named one of Utah’s Best Companies to Work For by Utah Business
magazine and one of America’s Best Companies to Work For by Outside Magazine, six
consecutive years in 2014, one of the Best Places to Work for in the Direct Selling Industry by
Direct Selling News in 2018, and received the Gold Stevie at the Stevie Best Places to Work
awards in 2017.
