New World Development (NWD)'s brand personality is best defined by The Artisanal Movement, a cultural vision, a philosophy for living. NWD is transforming into a unique ecosystem-centered institution providing variety of services enriching social culture and people’s life. To achieve these objectives, NWD launched bespoke employee engagement programmes and untraditional talent acquisition campaigns to engage and acquires Artisans with entrepreneurial spirit.

(A) Employee Engagement Programme

1. Employee Communication


  • An enterprise mobile application to help employees receive corporate developments and happenings anytime anywhere
  • Enable simple work procedures like expense claim and leave applications in a minute

Management Video

  • A communication platform for Senior Management and employees to share the Groups’ achievement and business strategy
  • Broadcasted through intranet pop-up, e-mail and A.Connect to ensure reaching all employees

Employees Connection

  • Relaxing gatherings are held regularly where all employees could play and mingle
  • Help engaging the new employees with existing employees, thus achieving a higher synergy at work

2. Family-friendly Initiatives
“Group Family Carnival”

  • Serve multi-functions of employee caring and culture diffusion
  • A full day carnival with company game booths, team games and performances arranged for the Group’s staff and their family members
  • Employees and their family enhanced their family harmony by having fun together
  • Gained deeper understanding on the Group’s culture and business through the interactions

Education Sponsorship for Employees’ Children

  • To encourage employees’ children to further their education and nurture youth development
  • Education assistance is provided for 2 to 3 consecutive years to Primary/Secondary School and University students
  • Internship and overseas exchange opportunity are offered

3. Talent Grooming & Engagement
A · Entrepreneur Adventure Day

  • A ground-breaking talent identification and grooming programme
  • Taking the form of a competition combining elements of Hackathon with other creative components
  • Employees pitched their unique business ideas in fostering New World Group’s (“The Group”) Cultural Tech development before the panel of senior management and start-up
  • Participants could interact with the entrepreneurs from the Group and the start-up communities to gain insights on their business ideas and personal learning from their entrepreneurs’ experience
  • Outstanding talents identified would have the opportunity to lead the Group’s entrepreneurial projects, and be further groomed on their entrepreneurship
  • The business ideas pitched would be studied on their feasibility and implemented with Management support

Engagement in Entrepreneur Projects

  • Provide the talents with practical experience and enrich their entrepreneur exposure
  • Talents to own and drive an entrepreneurial project undertaken by another subsidiary of the Group for at least 6 months

(B) Talent Acquisition Initiatives

  • Outstanding talents identified would have the opportunity to lead entrepreneurial projects in the Company.

Entrepreneur BEAT

  • A unique assessment experience for Internship Programme 2018
  • Consists of elevator pitch, team formation, coaching session, and presentation
  • Applicants would gain valuable insights via the interaction with our department heads and representatives (the coaches and judges)
  • Department heads and representatives took the chance to identify their potential interns

Candidate Relationship Management

  • Engage the candidates after the interviews
  • E-news on New World’s talent acquisition campaigns and relevant happenings are sent to candidates regularly
  • Candidates were invited to corporate events to gain a thorough understanding about NWD’s culture and directions for future talent matching

Stakeholder Engagement

  • To strengthen public’s awareness of NWD’s brand image
  • Engage with the external community (potential talents, business partners of Human Resources Department (HRD), etc.)
