Health is no longer just the absence of illness; it is the ability to lead a fitter and happier life. As a global leader in health, hygiene and home, RB believes it has the responsibility to help people achieve this, while making the right kind of social impact.

With this in mind, RB has built a distinct culture that values the health and wellness of its employees, and encourages them to give back. Below are highlights on some of the initiatives that make RB a great place to work.

Health & Wellness

In early 2017, RB introduced a new global program called liveyourbest to provide employees with the practical guidance and support needed to lead healthier and happier lives. Through the program, RB introduced a number of initiatives:

Subsidized Wellness & Fitness Center
RB offers a company wellness and fitness center, where employees can enjoy free staff-taught group exercise classes, wellness challenges and subsidized personal training sessions.

On-Site Nutrition Specialist
RB employs a registered dietician who sees interested employees every six weeks in free 1:1 counseling sessions and gives free lectures on nutrition periodically. Plus, RB offers the Weight Watcher’s @Work program in which the company subsidizes 50% of the cost.

On-Site Medical & Dental Care
RB offers employees the convenience of on-site medical and dental care. In addition to company-paid flu shots offered annually, RB hosts “Henry the Mobile Dentist” at its headquarters every three months to provide convenient insurance-covered dental care to employees. In October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, RB offers mobile mammogram services.

Subsidized Food & Products
RB’s onsite cafeteria offers subsidized lunch with healthy options, including a salad bar, to support employees’ wellness goals. RB also sells its products onsite in a company store, offering RB products at slightly above manufacturing cost to help employees take care of themselves, their families and their homes.

Parenting

Last year, RB expanded upon its Project D.A.R.E initiative to provide greater support to women returning to work after maternity leave. The initiative has fostered an inclusive leadership style that focuses on work/life balance, support and flexibility. The initiative also provides a mentoring program for women leaving and returning to work.

To further support new moms, RB upgraded and redesigned its “Nursing Mother’s Room,” a suite of rooms designated for mothers to pump in private. The rooms now feature expanded fridge space, comfortable chairs and welcoming décor showcasing photos of RB employees and their infants.

This year, all employees going out on parental leave are surprised with a “SupeRBaby” onesie to congratulate the new parent and welcome his or her newest addition to the RB family.

Give Time

In 2017, RB launched its Give Time program that enables employees to make an impact in their communities by giving time and skills to causes that matter. As part of the program, employees are entitled to two paid volunteer days per year, on top of their existing vacation and holiday paid days off.

Plus, RB organizes events throughout the year where employees can give back. In April 2018, RB organized a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS official attempt for the most backpacks stuffed with school supplies in one hour – successfully stuffing 1,512 backpacks with supplies to be donated to the Boys and Girls Club. In May 2018, RB organized a day of service with Habitat for Humanity, helping provide homes to those in need.

Transportation

In August 2017, RB launched a shuttle service to ease the financial burden of the commute to its North American headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. The shuttle service began with two subsidized shuttles to and from NYC and the Hoboken/Jersey City area. Due to the program’s success, additional shuttles have been added. Four shuttles now operate from Uptown NYC, Midtown NYC, Jersey City and Hoboken.

Employer of the Year Summary

Under the liveyourbest program, 368 Parsippany and 95 Montvale employees have benefitted from the free company wellness and fitness center.

On average, 25% of Parsippany, NJ and 35% of Montvale,NJ employees enjoy the convenience of on-site and company-paid flu shots.

Since September 2017, 85 employees have enjoyed the convenience of the mobile dentist.

On average, 10-12 women use the mammogram mobile each year, providing RB employees a convenient way to get needed preventative care.

In 2017, RB employees contributed over 20,000 hours of volunteer time through the Give Time program.

60 employees use the subsidized shuttle service. With a cost of $230 for the NYC shuttles and $140 for the Hoboken/Jersey City Shuttles, they are a considerable cost saving for employees
