Vinci Construction Grands Projets (VCGP) is a major international construction company, employing more than 185,000 in some 100 countries. In Hong Kong, we have 2 tunnel projects consists more than 450 staff.

Warm & Friendly French Bosses

We start work with happiness and warm feelings every day since our Directors greet, say “Good Morning” and shake hands with every colleague. It is a great surprise for new staff since it is rare in Asian.

Training and Development with Emphasis on Health and Safety

Emphasis Health, Wellbeing and building safety culture are the blood stream of VCGP, pursuit ‘zero accidents’ in the workplace is the backbone of our operation.

“Safety in Design” guarantees advance safety design prior to practice. With professional overseas and management trainers, trainings offer not just to own staff but also related stakeholder like subcontractors in alertness of international safety practices and standards, risk assessments, and safety control measures. Critical training includes annual International Safety Week (Asian Countries & Worldwide), training topics covered working at height, heavy machine handling, eyes on road…etc. Task pre-start analysis for detecting risky situations, and voluntary initiatives to prevent accidents. For new comers to the construction industry, VCGP cooperates with Construction Industry Council, offering 3 training schemes including the Contractor Cooperative Training Scheme (CCTS), Advanced Construction Manpower Training Scheme (ACMT) and On-the-job Training Scheme. ICE training scheme paving their way to charter status.

Health, wellbeing and safety program applies to all staff such as ergonomic usage tools (back & foot rester); daily morning exercise; site-based nurse for health check; extra appointed health check group; regular health check for underground and compressed air workers; semi-annual management review for improvements; appoint First aiders; regular Personal Protective Equipment Usage Training; mosquito repellent oil spraying in disease prevention and promote knowledge of pandemic diseases including Zika, dengue fever, MERS etc. VCGP attentions to expatriates’ mental health via relationships building through regular recreation gatherings.

Internal Safety Innovation competition including safety slogans, hands protections and safety step for promoting the safety awareness message among staff. The banner for the winner of monthly safety star will be posted in workplace as recognition. VCGP achieved International Safety Rating System of Det Norske Veritas Audit Level 8 - Only 3 construction firms in MTR Shatin Central Link project achieved such level.

Encourage Multi Dimensions Communication

Our Directors have daily site walk to monitor safety, working conditions, and project progress. They talk to individual site personnel and listen to their difficulties in their works, seek advice and Asian HR Pivot Club to boost Human Resources function and periodical meeting conducted in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Cambodia and Vietnam. This enables colleagues to share and create a synergy of their daily work.

Staff Events cum Social Responsibility

Throughout the year, VCGP host several staff and family events including BBQ Parties, Santa Barbara and Bastille Day, Tunnel Break through Ceremony, Running and Hiking competitions, CIC Happy Run, family days, annual dinner & Asian festivals celebrations. We are also an active member in the community through charity volunteering such as Caring Company – Volunteer, Red Cross Charity, Donations for Natural Disaster, Orbis – Moonwalkers etc. These events allow everyone to come together, to share success and happiness. Organization of such events is not a prerogative of HR Department, events can be initiated by colleagues from Technical, QS, Production and other departments and it will be with the support of the Management Team.
