Company: Concentrix Corporation, Tempe, AZ USA
Nomination Category: Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion
Concentrix strives to create an environment where our people feel comfortable and are able to perform at their best. Selection, training, development and promotions are based solely on individual merit, skills, qualifications, abilities and aptitude. A key element in our workforce diversity programs is our long-standing commitment to equal opportunity. We seek new staff members from a diverse pool because we believe that a diverse workforce contributes to a stronger global company. (See link to Video from GM of India, Ravinder Rana.)
Business activities are conducted without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability or age. This inclusivity is built into our corporate culture from the ground up. Concentrix requires all staff members globally to sign off their Code of Ethical Business Conduct every year. The first three points on the code are ‘Respecting Diversity, Providing Equal Opportunity and Forbidding Discrimination and Harassment.
But our commitment to diversity and inclusion doesn’t just stop with hiring. We also strive to create an inclusive workspace though programs designed to celebrate our differences. For example, with Project Treasure we collaborated with one of our major financial clients to expand this philosophy into the community through charitable programs that benefit the environment, neglected and orphaned children, the sick and the elderly.
Frequently we partner with like-minded clients such as in Project Wheelz, which provides rides to women to commute to work and Project Treasure. As part of this initiative, we singled out some of our staff members to serve as an inspiration to others. (see Diversity and Inclusion Role Models pdf). Many have overcome their own obstacles and see their work as a way to give back to others.
In the UK, we are an accredited “Diversity Champion.” All our policies have been reviewed by the Northern Ireland Rainbow Project and altered where necessary to ensure gender neutrality and equality. Concentrix staff members of all levels attend Belfast Pride and events held by the Rainbow Project, including fundraisers such as 'OUT on the Roof' and awareness seminars such as “Workplaces Matter.” The Rainbow Project has also asked permission to use Concentrix staff members in their case studies. For these initiatives and more, Concentrix in Belfast was shortlisted for the Legal Island Diversity Award in January 2017. (See link to Legal Island Equality and Diversity Awards gala)
All over the world, our staff members support this dedication to inclusivity (see link to India social) and corporate policy reflects that. In North America and in countries that recognize the transgender community as a legal entity, Concentrix health coverage includes transgender inclusive benefits. Concentrix also offers same-sex spousal benefits.
We also just launched NOW (Network of Women) (see email blast NOW) globally. This initiative, started on a smaller scale last year, has been given new life under the executive sponsorship of Senior Vice President of Marketing and Client Engagement Jyllene Miller. (see link to video). While Concentrix already has a sterling record of inclusion with regards to women (see link to STPI Export Award Winner Kolkata Highest Percentage of Women), we always strive to improve.
The Concentrix commitment to diversity and inclusion is not restricted to just one country, or even to merely one continent, but is truly a global dedication carried out in a multitude of examples. From organizing women to empower their careers to promoting human rights to seeking to hire and welcome people of all different backgrounds, we truly believe in the ability of a diverse global workforce to make the world a better place.
